京都府のサウナ施設のサ活

サウナは３名でいっぱい、水風呂もなく水シャワーで済ませるしかないが、京都のど真ん中で日の光を浴びながら入る一人用の露天風呂はとても気持ちが良い。朝から利用できる点も○。

風呂・サウナ以外にも駅チカであること、ウエルカムドリンクや朝食のパンが無料でいただけることなど、安価な割にサービスは素晴らしいものがあると思い最近の定宿にしている。京都に来られた際は試してみてはどうか。

After visiting Funaoka-Onsen, I was still craving a good sauna. So, I finally made up my mind and headed to Kamogawa-Yu, a sento managed by a young but passionate company.

Last summer, I visited Umeyu, which was a unique and nostalgic experience for me. However, I couldn't shake the feeling of being a stranger in Kyoto. Of course, I am a tourist, but at Kamogawa-Yu, I felt truly comfortable—almost like I was staying at my grandma's house.

The bath area is small, but the sauna is hot and satisfying. What stood out most, though, was the warmth of the regular customers. They were kind and cheerful, sometimes chatting among themselves but also politely asking me a few questions. They treated me like a high school boy returning home for summer vacation, which made me feel genuinely welcomed and at ease.

During this short trip, I visited four public sento in Kyoto, and Kamogawa-Yu was my favorite. I realized that even brief but warm interactions with strangers can make a trip feel truly special.

This was my first time visiting this historic public sento. That day, I was able to enter from the right side, and from what I understand, the sides switch daily.

I wouldn't say the facility is super clean, but the vintage decorations and traditional design make it well worth a visit. As a traveler from Tokyo, I was also surprised by how lively the atmosphere was—locals were chatting freely, and there seemed to be no expectation to stay quiet. The experience felt completely different from Tokyo, but that's exactly what makes traveling so special.

The sauna itself is quite mild, but the cold water bath is truly noteworthy. Kyoto's natural groundwater is clean and smooth, offering a completely different sensation from Tokyo's water. If you're looking to experience an old, nostalgic, and uniquely Japanese sento, this place is a must-visit.
