After finishing my work on Sunday, I headed to Mitsukoshi-yu; however, contrary to the information on the (Apple) map app, the sento was closed. Fortunately, I found another sento nearby, and surprisingly, their sauna is only open on Sundays!
The spa is located in the basement, and there is no cold bath. While washing my hair and body, I couldn't help but smile at discovering this rare new sauna in Shibuya-ku. After taking a hot bath (which we humorously call "parboiling"), I entered the small sauna. The temperature was approximately 50°C, but my feet started to feel cold. Suddenly I left the sauna, took another bath, and finished. I assume that the heater or the heating system is not working well or is too old. Although I couldn't fully enjoy the sauna, I have no regrets. I accidentally found this new sento, and moreover, the sento provided me with a mist sauna by chance.
The hot bath is small but big enough, so if you just want to experience the old-style sento in Tokyo, give it a try.
