Visited Sauna New Japan Umeda.
I realized I had actually been here about 20 years ago.
Back then, I didn’t fully appreciate how amazing this place is.
The first floor has a huge high-temperature sauna with a massive stove and an incredible aroma.
As soon as you step out, there’s suddenly a pool right in front of you❗️
Swim across it, and you’ll find the stairs leading up to the second floor.
On the second floor, there’s a beautiful birchwood sauna.
You can do self löyly here, and it hits so well.
After that, straight into a 15°C cold bath.
Then up to the third floor.
Right after climbing the spiral staircase, there’s a small sauna with a triangular roof.
This one was especially charming.
The stove looks almost like a traditional Japanese irori hearth, and you can do self löyly there too.
And the best part?
This place has bar counters inside the bath area on both the first and second floors.
This place is just too good.
